Patma Institute of Music that has imparted music in and around Mangalore celebrated its 13th anniversary at TV Raman Pai convention hall on Sunday October 3, 2013.
The program began with a prayer song, by the students of the institute after which Bro Andrew Richard of Grace Ministry Mangalore graced the occasion.
The anniversary celebration was inaugurated by lighting up the lamp, by Bro Andrew Richard; Valentine D’souza, CCB police inspector Mangalore; sitarist Ustad Rafique Khan and chief guest Donald B, proprietor of Sea Bird International.
In his presidential address chief guest Donald B, proprietor of Sea Bird International and the famous Konkani writer said, “Music is not easy to be taught like any other theory subject, it needs extreme patience and deliverance.”
He congratulated Patrick and Wilma Pereira the owners of Patma Institute of Music for their dedication towards music.
Internationally renowned sitarist Ustad Rafique Khan was the guest of honor and was felicitated on the event. He also released a new Hindi instrumental CD named ‘Guitar Magic’ which is initiated by Patson Pereira son of Patrick and Wilma Pereira.
Ustad Rafique Khan congratulated Patma Institute of Music on their years of accomplishment and wished them success.
Singers Sangeetha Balachandra, Mohammad Iqbal and Amir Jan were felicitated for their achievements in the music industry. Satish Hassan and R P Mahesh were also acknowledged for their success in the field of music.
The valedictory included performances by talented students from Patma Institute of Music.
