Waiting on God

01-02-2018

Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. We will grow stronger and have a deeper connection with God. It is better to wait upon God than calling quits.

And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you; for the Lord is a God of judgment; blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18

God is slow to anger and full of compassion. He is a gracious God. If God was a God who would punish us every time we sin or go off track, nobody would stand before Him.  In other words, nobody would have ever been alive.  He waits for us to inherit what He has in store for us.  He wants us to enjoy the richness of His grace.  In so waiting, God would be exalted and His power would be manifested in our lives so that we could taste His mercy.  He never condemns anybody who go to Him but passes a fair judgment.

In order for us to grab hold of what God has for us, we need to prepare ourselves for that. Sometimes, we experience delays in receiving what has been promised to us.  God makes us to wait for some things because He wants us to know He will never break His promise.  On the other hand, God waits too. He waits until we become worthy to receive what is due us.  Even if heaven and earth pass away and time flies, God will wait for us to receive what He is going to offer.  It make take a few years or even a decade. Time is not a big thing with God.  What matters to God is our attitude to His every spoken word or promise.  In the process of God waiting, He will be exalted.  His glory will be manifested in our lives and we shall obtain mercy. The Lord, our God, is an able and a just God.

Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. We will grow stronger and have a deeper connection with God. It is better to wait upon God than calling quits.
