God has a Plan for Everyone

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46:7

Jesus sat alone at the well of Jacob. It was noonday and His disciples had gone into the city to get some food.

From afar, Jesus saw a woman approaching the well. Her history was disreputable. She was married 5 times and the person with whom she lived was not her husband.

She visited the well when the heat of the sun was so unbearable that people stayed indoors. It was her fortress from the troubles of the world.

But, why did Jesus wait in the scorching sun for someone so blatantly sinful?

Jesus disregarded her past. He had His eyes set on the road ahead, to give her freedom from her past and hope for a better future.

It is said, “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” – Isaiah 43:25

Yes, even today He waits for us. He knows the hurt that we have brought upon ourselves with our past choices. Only He can understand our pain and comfort us.

Jesus forgave the Samaritan woman and gave her a chance to experience revival. That day, she understood that it wasn’t the well of Jacob, but the Lord of Jacob who was the real fortress!

Where do you take refuge from your problems?

Don’t put your trust in the world. Let Jesus be your fortress!
