“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
The past is a strange place. On one hand, there are many good memories, experiences we cherished and things we achieved. On the other hand, we remember past hurts, shameful incidents, and areas where we failed. No matter how good or bad the past was, we cannot live the abundant life by dwelling in the past.
God wants to do a new thing in your life but you cannot experience it to the full if you keep looking back. Let go of the laurels you may have achieved earlier, and embrace the plans that God has for your future. Allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse your past sins and remove all guilt and shame.
Even though it may appear like you’re in the middle of a dry season in your life, the Lord will make it fruitful again. The best days of your life are not over; they are yet to come. As you grow closer to God, you will experience a new level of God’s goodness and grace in your life.
