For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8-9
Our identity is defined in the work of our dear Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. The day when the son of God bore the weight of the cross, for you and me, He did not only carry a cross but he also carried the burden of our sins, weaknesses, and physical ailments. Most importantly, He blessed us with salvation and eternal life in Him.
A remarkable day indeed, when God chose to embrace the frailty of humans and gave everlasting peace to mankind. Our life begins with the death of our Lord Jesus on the cross. That is the love with which our God has loved us. The grace of God that we enjoy in our life is not cheap, but a heavy price was paid for it. So every one of us, who are covered under his wings and enjoys His grace, are rich and prosperous, for our God has taken away our poverty through the cross.
Today, whatever may be our financial situation, our health may need improvement, our relationships may need work or our spiritual strength may need to be rejuvenated but through it all, let us remind ourselves that our God has paid the price for it. He became poor so that we can be rich. By His wounds, we are healed. And so let us strengthen ourselves and run this race faithfully
