Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you.
Hundreds of years before the Lord Jesus was born, King David was at his desk with a quill in hand and a game-changing prophesy in mind. He jotted it down, fully believing that the Lord would bring it to pass at the appointed time.
Little did he know that a multitude of people would welcome Jesus for His last Passover with the same words – “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” – Luke 19:38
It wasn’t like the Lord Jesus did not know that his crucifixion was only a few days away. He also knew that many in the crowd who were cheering for him would call for his crucifixion in the following days. Yet, on the cross, in excruciating physical and spiritual agony, He said “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” – Luke 23:34
That is the nature of our God! He is unwavering in His love for us.
Even when we praise God on a Sunday and go back to our worldly vices through the week, the Lord doesn’t stop loving us. He waits for us to return, like the Father in the Parable of the Prodigal Son – Luke 15:11-32.
God is waiting to welcome you with open arms today! Will you take that first step towards Him.
