Luke 11:13 (NKJV)

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

The Babylonians captured prisoners of war after they laid waste to the land of Israel. One among them was Daniel.

With no family for support, Daniel was probably lonely and unhappy. Or so we think. But, to Daniel, God was his father and best friend – a relationship built through consistent prayer.

God’s favour was so great on Daniel that he soon became one of the wise men of Babylon!

One day, the king had a troubling dream. He wanted the wise men to repeat the dream and then interpret it for him, failing which they would be put to death. When the wise men of Babylon failed, Daniel took up the assignment.

He engaged in earnest prayer, asking God to reveal the dream and its meaning to him. That night, Daniel saw a vision, an extraordinary vision! Not only did it reveal the king’s dream and its interpretation, but it foretold the future of the kingdom of Babylon for generations to come.

The next day, Daniel shared his vision with the king and explained it to him. On hearing this, the king fell prostrate and praised our God!

What the wise men of Babylon proclaimed impossible, our God did overnight while Daniel was asleep. When the Holy Spirit can reveal the future of an entire nation to Daniel in those days, imagine the visions He has in store for us in these days.

The Holy Bible states, “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” – Acts 2:17

Are we ready for a vision from God? More importantly, do we have a relationship with God that is unwavering enough for Him to trust us with a vision?

It’s never too late to forge a relationship with God. He is always waiting to embrace us with open arms!
