Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” KJV
The above verse clears our worldly perception of righteousness. It is true that no one is righteous, but when we run to the Lord, we are made righteous. God is aware of our sinful nature. He knows all our weaknesses and short comings. The Bible’s standard of human righteousness is God’s own perfection in every attribute, every attitude, every behaviour, and every word. When Jesus died on the cross, He became unrighteous so that we could receive Him and become righteous.
All of us falter and make mistakes. But the ones who run to the Lord for discipline and correction are good in His eyes. He honours those who honour Him. He takes pleasure in guiding those who take refuge in Him.
It is okay to err, as we have all failed and fallen short of God’s glory. But the moment we realise our errors with the desire to mend our ways, and surrender ourselves completely into His divine hands, we are made righteous and blameless. He will not only lead us in the right path, but also defend and deliver us from every situation. Thanks to Him that we now stand boldly before His throne, made righteous through His blood.
