Rejoice in hope

Rejoice in hope

03-03-2016

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”‭‭ Romans‬ ‭5:1-2‬

Hopelessness is one of the worst possible feelings for a child of God. It’s relatively easier to cope with anger, sadness or loneliness. But when we feel hopeless, there isn’t anything worth looking forward to. We feel hopeless when things don’t turn out the way we expect them to. We think our situation may never change, and life’s not going to get any better.
But hopelessness must not be entertained by a believer of Jesus, because it reflects poorly on our faith. As the verses above state, because we have Jesus, we have hope. He died for a world that seemed hopeless, and rose again to grant us hope. We can rejoice because the God we serve is greater than our hopeless situation.

As long as we have Christ, we have hope. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. God existed long before our problems made an appearance in our lives. He’ll be our steadfast companion in the midst of our trial – a solid rock we can cling on to. He will remain by our side as we walk out of a difficult season, wiser and more mature than before. No matter what troubles you this week, don’t give up hope.
