For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14
Forgiveness is the essence of Christianity. It removes shame, wipes out our past and gives us a chance to transform our lives for the better.
In many European and North American countries, crossing streets against the light is a punishable offence. The fine is hefty to ensure people don’t violate the law.
If God was to levy such penalties on us for our sins, where would we be?
Paul was a murderer! He was one of the front-line executioners in the death of Stephen, a respected prophet. Hundreds of others were put in prison for worshipping Jesus.
Jesus could have punished Paul in full for his actions. But, our God is full of mercy!
He met with Paul and changed his life. Paul’s passion was turned from executing Christians to exemplifying the love of Christ to many nations.
He knew full well that if God had dealt with him for his sin, he would not be alive. It was only the grace of God that saved him.
Therefore, he wrote, ” For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
Even today God’s grace is in abundance for His children. Yes, He calls us His children though many a time we reject His love like rebellious teenagers. He does not turn away and ignore us because we reject Him. He waits with open arms to love us unconditionally!
When we take one step towards God, He runs towards us with love that only experience can explain.
Are you ready to experience His love today?
Call upon Jesus in earnest prayer! He’s just one step away!
