God is on our Side

“And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued; For I will contend with the one who contends with you, and I will save your sons.” Isaiah 49:25

The world has seen the rise and fall of many tyrannical rulers. A quick look at history reminds us of the crimes committed by dictators and wars waged in vain. While we do have the blessing of democracy now, we still might have to face tyrants in our personal lives. Perhaps it’s a tough boss, an unfair authority or a harsh superior. Or maybe you find yourself constantly at odds with difficult situations in your life. You might want to read today’s verse again and bolster your hope.

You don’t have to face the tyrants of your life alone. You have God on your side. You serve a kind, compassionate, just and loving God. He’s with you, even on those days when you don’t feel His presence. God has promised to rescue His children from oppression. He hears your cry, He sees your plight and He understands.

When you have the commander-in-chief of an army on your side, you won’t hesitate to forge ahead in the heat of battle. No matter what kind of war you’re fighting in your life, remember God’s calling the shots. Even if challenges seem to target you every time, don’t despair; God’s will help you overcome them. He’s with you, and He will lead you to victory.
