For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10
How frequently do we question the fairness of things when we see and experience injustice around us? People including our family members, friends, colleagues, and sometimes strangers may treat us unfairly. It’s often true that people remember negative things strongly and more vividly than good deeds. The world tells us we are never good enough, and experiencing this discourages us from doing good.
The author of Hebrews reminds us of God’s justice. Our Lord has an infallible record of all our thoughts, intentions, words, and deeds. He looks at our hearts. What an assurance to know that the eyes of the Lord will not ignore the good deed we do. Every time we encourage others, every kind word we say, every thoughtful act of kindness, every time we are positive instead of negative–God sees it all, no matter how insignificant the action. Because the Lord sees, He remembers and will reward us.
Therefore, let us not be discouraged when we do not see microwave timing rewards, it surely will come in its due season. We should fix our eyes on our Lord Jesus Christ and persevere in doing good. When we feel that the pressure to give up and not persevere in doing good because of the negative experiences, let’s run back to our Lord’s promise and remind ourselves that ‘God remembers, therefore we won’t give up’
