“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 28:2

Today’s verse is a prelude to a host of blessings that God promised the Israelites. The Lord promised to bless their land, livestock, work, family, health, food, finances, and so much more. But the fulfilment of the promises depended on the faith of the Israelites. Only if they believed God and obeyed His voice would these blessings come upon them and overtake them.

Life can’t have been very easy for these people who were trudging through the wilderness for years together. But God had promised them a breakthrough. They would eventually reach the Promised Land and receive their inheritance. God was preparing them to fully live the abundant life, but they had to respond in obedience first.

Are you waiting for a breakthrough in your own life? The God of unlimited blessings is your Father and He longs to see you live a victorious life. Spend time at God’s feet and listen to what He’s instructing you. Heed His voice and follow His direction. You will soon see the fulfilment of His promises in your life, and you will give God all the glory.
