What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.  (KJV):Psalm 25:12-13

Whoever fears and respects the Lord, to them He will teach the way that they should or ought to choose.  Such a person’s soul shall dwell at ease or enjoy a peaceful life and his/her descendants will inherit all the blessings that pertain to earthly life.

Having a reverential fear of God is necessary irrespective of the closeness that one maintains with God.  He is our heavenly Father, but yet when it comes to worshipping Him and giving Him the honour that is due Him, there has to be that element of respectful fear of God deep inside us.  We cannot take God for granted just because He is our Father.  We cannot dishonour Him in our thoughts and yet manage to live a hypocritical holy life in public.  We have to honour Him in everything.  When we make decisions for ourselves over priorities in life, choices, relationships, finances, etc., we need to get God involved too.  When we so respect and honour Him, He will teach us in the way that we ought to choose or the way that He wants us to choose.  We can undoubtedly say that when we choose the ways that are pleasing to Him, He will guide us in every step.  We can be free from all kind of anxiety or panic attacks or depression when we fear God and respect Him for who He is.

In order for us to enjoy and live a fulfilling life, let us learn to fear God and choose His ways over our’s.
